Tips for using your Zee Candle

If you've been using Zee Candles for some time, you know they're a great way to add fragrance to your home. But if you're new to the game? Well, let us help! We've compiled a list of tips and tricks that will help your Zee Candle perform at its peak.

Trim the wick to 6mm before lighting the candle.

When you first get your Zee Candle, trim the wick to 6mm before lighting it. Avoid using your fingers or other objects in place of sharp scissors!

If the flame gets large after you trim the wick, extinguish the candle and trim it again.

If the flame gets large after you trim the wick, extinguish the candle and trim it again. If you trim the wick too short, the flame will get large.

The first time you light your candle, let it burn for 3 to 4 hours.

This will ensure that the wax is evenly spread and will produce the most fragrance.

It's also important to make sure the flame doesn't get too large or small during this first use. Make sure there are no children or pets around, then place the candle on a flat surface away from anything that can catch fire (like curtains). You'll want to keep an eye on it as you go about your day so that if something does happen (like a child wanders into the room), you can put out any flames immediately!

Keep your candle away from drafts.

In order for your Zee Candle to work properly, it needs to be kept in an area where there are no drafts or moving air. We strongly recommend keeping your candle away from:

  • Air vents (especially if they're above the candle)

  • Doors and windows - If you do have a door or window nearby, make sure that it's shut tight!

  • Air conditioners - If you have an air conditioner in your home or office and need to move the candle closer than 1 metre away from it, turn off the air conditioner first!

  • Fans - You may not think of fans as having much of an effect on candles, but they actually do! If you have a fan in your home or office then keep at least 2 metres away from any Zee Candles so that nothing blows directly onto them.

Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  • Place your Zee Candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface that is away from flammable objects and children and pets.

  • Never place the candle in direct sunlight or near a heat source of any kind. For example, don’t put it on top of your refrigerator or next to an open window where hot air can blow directly onto the flame, which could cause it to go out prematurely.

Allow your wax to harden before relighting your candle.

Once you've used a candle, let it harden before relighting. This will help prevent cracking and prolong the life of your candle. The amount of time you should wait depends on the size of your Zee Candle. We recommend 2-3 hours!

For larger candles such as the 24-oz or 36-oz tins, let them sit overnight before using again

Keep these tips in mind when using Zee Candles!

  • Use a candle snuffer to extinguish the flame.

  • Never leave a burning candle unattended.

  • Don't allow candles to burn for more than 3 hours at a time, unless the wick is long enough to allow it (more than 6mm).

  • Do not use your Zee Candle if it has been burning for an extended period of time or has been burning with too little wax in the pool for an extended period of time.

Conclusion

Hopefully, these tips will help you get the most out of your candle! Remember to trim the wick before lighting it and never leave a burning candle unattended.
